Box Score OSWEGO, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNAYC) rival SUNY Oswego on Saturday afternoon.
The Hawks (6-2, 1-1) will host Union (N.Y.) College on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 4 p.m. at Alumni Field. Oswego (4-3-1, 1-1) moves on to face SUNY Potdam on Friday, Oct. 2 at 3 p.m.
Despite heavy offensive pressure from both sides, neither team could open the scoring in the first half of game play.

st minute, Jason Siracuse knocked in a header to launch Oswego ahead, 1-0. The Hawks found its chance to tie up the score as junior forward
Tyler Lundgren (Wallkill, N.Y./Wallkill) lined up for a penalty kick in the 52nd minute but sent the ball too far past the net.
The Hawks notched the equalizer when junior midfielder
Charlie Versen (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y./The Masters School) launched a free kick outside of the 18 to beat the Oswego goalkeeper in the 62
nd minute.
Oswego managed to pull ahead in the 88th minute when Harrison Rieber rebounded a free kick into the goal for a 2-1 advantage. The Hawks were unable to respond with another goal and the Lakers sealed their victory.
New Paltz outshot Oswego, 19-16, but the Lakers held a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks.
Lundgren and Versen led the offense with Lundgren notching seven shots while Versen collected five on the day. Sophomore goalkeeper
John Guzzo (Carle Place, N.Y./Carle Place) recorded five saves in goal.
