Box Score NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz men's soccer team fell to Union (N.Y.) College, 1-0, on Tuesday afternoon at the South Turf Field.
The Hawks (6-3-0, 1-1-0 SUNYAC) will host State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) rival SUNY Geneseo on Friday, Oct. 2 at 1 p.m. Union (6-1-2, 0-0-1 Liberty League) moves on to face Renesselaer Polytechnic Institute on Friday, Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m.
Neither team was able to open the scoring in the first half, but the Dutchmen soon found their break in the 78
th minute when Ethan Strauss launched the ball into the net on a throw in from Andrew Fontaine to push Union ahead, 1-0.
The Hawks attempted to tie up the score in the final minutes but couldn't find their target as time ran out on the clock.
Despite the loss, New Paltz outshot the Dutchmen, 15-14, and held a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks.

Gino Scardino (West Hempstead, N.Y./H. Frank Carey) led the offense with six shots while junior midfielder
Charlie Versen (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y./The Masters School) recorded three shots.
