Box Score 2 SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's volleyball team split a pair of matches on day two at the Haverford/Swarthmore Tournament on Sunday at Tarble Pavilion, defeating The City College of New York, 3-0 (25-10, 25-10, 25-13), before falling to host Swarthmore College, 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 25-13).

Maddie Zwickl (Chester, N.Y./Warwick Valley) was named to the All-Tournament Team.
New Paltz moves to 1-4 overall with the results and hosts its annual Hawks Invitational from Friday-Saturday, Sept. 11-12. The Hawks open up play at the event on Friday at 3 p.m. against The Sage Colleges.
New Paltz 3, CCNY 0 New Paltz reached the win column with a 3-0 win over CCNY, using a balanced offense to secure the victory. The team hit .275 for the match, and the Hawks outgained the Beavers, 5-2, in service aces.

Christine Donat (Stony Brook, N.Y./Ward Melville) keyed the Hawk attack with eight kills, while sophomore setter
Melannie Aquino (Billerica, Mass./Burlington) dished out 27 assists and had two service aces. Junior libero
Rachel Pierson (Middletown, N.Y./Minisink Valley) paced the back row defensively with 11 digs.
For CCNY, sophomore outside hitter Angela Ubanwa posted two kills, one ace and a block, while sophomore defensive specialist Veralucia Quispe and sophomore outside hitter Irishvarsha Iyyadurai defended 16 and 10 digs, respectively.
Swarthmore 3, New Paltz 0 Swarthmore fired on all cylinders offensively, hitting at a .330 clip for the match. New Paltz, meanwhile, was limited to .065 hitting. The Garnet also held the upper hand in total team blocks (5-1) and service aces (10-2).

Morgan Roessler (Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) ignited the Hawk offense with nine kills and a .467 hitting percentage (9-2-15), while Zwickl dished out 14 assists. Junior libero
Meg Kinee (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) paced the back row defensively with 10 digs.
For Swarthmore, sophomore outside hitters Sarah Wallace and Olivia Leventhal floored 11 and eight kills, respectively, while senior setter Sam DuBois handed out 24 assists. Defensively, DuBois posted four block assists, while freshman outside hitter/defensive specialist Sarah Girard defended 14 digs.
