CORTLAND, NY – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's volleyball team earned a berth into the 2016 SUNYAC Tournament by virtue of its 3-1 win over Buffalo State on Friday evening at Corey Gymnasium.
The Hawks (15-9, 6-1 SUNYAC) defeated the Bengals (6-21, 0-7 SUNYAC) 25-18, 25-15, 23-25, 25-15 and can clinch the No. 2 overall seed tomorrow with a victory over SUNY Oneonta (10 a.m.) or host SUNY Cortland (3 p.m.). The full, up-to-date SUNYAC standings can be found

Three players enjoyed double-digit kill outings as senior outside hitter
Morgan Roessler (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) paced the attack with 17 kills on 36 swings (.333) while providing two solo blocks and three digs. Senior middle hitter
Brittany Tyack (Commack, NY/Commack) tallied 12 kills on 18 attempts (.556) and chipped in three solo blocks while senior outside hitter
Anna Paulik (Wantagh, NY/Wantagh) registered a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs.
Defensively, five players recorded double-digit digs with junior libero
Veronica Matedero (Hauppauge, NY/Hauppauge) leading the way with 18. Both junior libero
