TROY, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's soccer team fell to the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 3-0, in a non-conference contest on Friday evening.
Freshman forward Emily Kaplan scored the first goal for the Engineers (4-0) in the 22nd minute of game play for a 1-0 lead before by intermission but would ultimately take home the 3-0 victory as freshman defender Jeanine Moreau and junior defender Bethany Hanson scored in the 52nd and 63rd minute, respectively.
RPI lead the Hawks in shots, 29-5, and held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Hannah Moran (Albany, N.Y./Albany) tallied one shot each. Freshman goalkeeper
Angela Ratka (Farmington, N.Y./Victor) made 11 saves for New Paltz.
For the Engineers, senior midfielder Kensey Waterman, freshman midfielder Alexis Castrellon and senior forward Cori Winslow recorded four shots apiece. Freshman goalkeeper Joey Lyons had three stops in goal.
The Hawks (1-6-1) move on to play Manhattanville College tomorrow at 3 p.m.
