The Bombers hit the ground running in the opening quarter, pushing a large 18-6 gap, before extending their lead to 31-8 off of a 13-2 run in the second period. The Hawks would only manage to score nine more points as Ithaca sat at a comfortable 44-17 distance heading into halftime.
Ithaca continued to extend its lead well into the third quarter, leading by its largest margin (60-18) at the 3:54 mark, but in the final period New Paltz managed to outscore Ithaca 22-16. However it would not be enough to catch the Bombers who sealed the final 78-50 win as time expired.
