Box Score Oswego, NY — A tough shooting night resulted in a lopsided loss on the road for the State University of New York at New Paltz men's basketball team, as the Hawks (4-11 overall, 1-7 SUNYAC) fell to Oswego State, 73-57.
 
"We got killed on the glass and down low and our offense really struggled in the first half," said SUNY New Paltz coach Keith Kenney. "Our defensive effort was good and we never gave up, but we could not score the ball."
 
The Lakers (8-8, 5-4) got out to a 10-0 run, and stretched their advantage to as many as 24 in the first half, while the Hawks found their groove offensively.
 
SUNY New Paltz scored 10 of its 20 first-half points from the foul line and finally knocked down its first basket with about six minutes to play before intermission.
 
Trailing by 21 at the break, the Hawks started gaining momentum down the stretch and got within 14 points with about three minutes left thanks in large part to Paddy Parr off the bench and Dylan Balducci, who combined for 19 second-half points.
 
Ultimately, SUNY New Paltz was held to its lowest point-total of the season after shooting 33.3 percent from the floor and a season-low 12.5 percent (2-of-16) from 3-point range. Oswego State also held the advantage on the glass, 51-37, and scored 30 of its points in the paint.
 
Balducci and Parr led the team offensively with 13 and 10 points. Parr also added six rebounds, while Brandon Guest chipped in with nine points and six rebounds.
