The State University of New York at New Paltz announced its 2018 field hockey schedule Wednesday, as the Hawks are eyeing a trip back to the SUNYAC finals where they lost to SUNY Cortland in their 2017 campaign. SUNY New Paltz finished the season at 7-12 overall and 4-2 in SUNYAC play.
Under the guidance of coach
Shanna Szablinski, who enters her 10th season with four SUNYAC titles under her belt, the Hawks open up the year at home with Utica College and St. Lawrence University Sep. 1 and 2, respectively. SUNY New Paltz then heads on the road for five of its next six games, before opening up SUNYAC play at home against Morrisville State Sep. 29.
Highlighting the Hawks 2018 schedule is a behemoth of a home game against SUNY Cortland on Oct. 6. SUNY New Paltz will look to avenge its 5-0 loss in the championship game from last season. Following the game against the Red Dragons, the Hawks go on the road for five straight games before finishing out the regular season against Vassar College at home Oct. 27.
