SUNY New Paltz Baseball Releases 2020 Schedule

NEW PALTZ, NY --- Despite not securing a spot in the 2019 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) tournament last season, the State University of New York at New Paltz baseball team is preparing to get back into the playoff scene in its 2020 campaign with its hope of capturing the program's first SUNYAC championship. 

The Hawks are guided by second-year coach Thomas Seay, who led SUNY New Paltz to a 13-19 overall record and 5-13 record in conference play in his first year. 

SUNY New Paltz will open up its season on the road as it encounters Mount Saint Mary College (NY) in a doubleheader March 7 at Dutchess Stadium. On the following day (March 8), the Hawks will travel to Hoboken, NJ to take on Stevens Institute of Technology in a single game. 

The Hawks will remain on the road as it pays a visit to the University of Scranton (March 11) for a single game, Centenary University (March 14) for a doubleheader, and Manhattanville College (March 15) for a doubleheader, which will be played on the campus of Fordham University. 

After playing eight non-conference contests, SUNY New Paltz will travel to Catskill Cup rival SUNY Oneonta to begin SUNYAC play on March 20 and March 21. Later in the week, the Hawks will make a trip to the Big Apple March 25 to take on Division II opponent, The College of Staten Island.

SUNY New Paltz will host its first SUNYAC series as it welcomes Plattsburgh State to Loren Campbell Memorial Field March 27 and March 28. After facing the Cardinals, the Hawks will battle Rowan University March 29 for a single game at home. 

The month of April will begin with Union College coming to town on April 1 before hosting powerhouse SUNY Cortland April 3 and April 4 for its second SUNYAC series at home. After dealing with the Red Dragons, SUNY New Paltz will welcome SUNY Cobleskill for the first time for a non-conference matchup on April 7.

The Hawks gets back on the road as it will challenge Skidmore College (April 8) and Wells College (April 10 and April 11) before returning home to take on Purchase College April 14. 

SUNY New Paltz travels to La Plume, PA to clash with Keystone College April 15 prior to making a trip to The College at Brockport on April 17 and April 18. The Hawks will then head to Western Connecticut State University on April 21 and return home the next day (April 22) to face off against Mid-Hudson Valley cross river rival Vassar College. 

SUNY New Paltz travels one final time of the season to defending SUNYAC champions, Oswego State, on April 24 and April 25. The Hawks closes the 2020 season at home as it welcomes Pine Manor College (April 28), New York University (April 29) and Fredonia (May 1 and May 2). 

The SUNYAC tournament is scheduled to begin May 7 and end May 9 on the campus of the number one seed.
