Cortland, NY --- The State University of New York at New Paltz finished its dominant weekend on a high note, defeating hosting SUNY Cortland, 9-0.
"Another Strong showing from all of the roster against a much improved Cortland team. We executed our winner shots very well," said Hawks coach Rob Bruley. "Good to see work that is going on in practice used to win points and matches under gameday pressure." 
Trinity Chow and Laura Koob kicked off the SUNY New Paltzhot start with an 8-0 win in first doubles. Victoria Zezula and Onalee Batcheller followed in their footsteps with an 8-0 win as well at second doubles. Alexandra Dratch and Emma Messenger finished the doubles matches with an 8-2 victory.
The singles matches would also go in the Hawks' favor. Chow started with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at first singles. Koob won (6-0, 6-0), Zezula won (6-1, 6-1) and Batcheller won (7-5, 6-1) at second, third and fourth singles, respectively. Alex Chimenti swept her series at fifth singles, 6-0, 6-0 and Ava Sweeney capped off the day with a 6-3, 6-1 win at sixth singles.
SUNY New Paltz will look to keep its SUNYAC winning streak going against SUNY Oneonta this upcoming Tuesday at home. This match could be the deciding factor of who will be the top seed heading into the playoffs.
