Stepan Andranikian worked at the State University of New York at New Paltz Athletic, Wellness Center for three years before graduating this past May. Andranikian held different roles within the department, but was a key member of the Wellness & Recreation marketing team last year as he began a digital internship with the department where he produced numerous promotional videos that were popular among students and staff. Prior to taking a role on the marketing team, Andranikian studied and passed the personal training exam through the Living Learning Health and Wellness Community and immediately started working as a personal trainer for the Hawks as a sophomore. Along with his other roles, Andranikian taught Mixed Martial Arts classes as well.
Andranikian talked about his time at the College, working within the department and why there is only one SUNY New Paltz.
"After spending the past four years of my life at New Paltz, I can confidently say that there is no other place quite like it in this world. It's a wondrous environment where all walks of life are encouraged to shoot for the stars and live their best life. It's an invigorating and refreshing feeling to be able to be a part of a community that supports the academic, professional, and social aspects of each and every individual's lifestyle. Here everyone is given a platform to shine and a chance to reveal to the world who they are. On any given day, rain or shine, SUNY New Paltz never fails to provide an uplifting and energizing atmosphere because of the deep rooted sense of community and belonging. A place to call home isn't just a nice house or an apartment, it's a place where the prosperity, health, and happiness of all those around is prioritized. Here at SUNY New Paltz you can be sure to find a spot in your heart to call it a home, just as I and countless others have."
