Ryan Cole spent four seasons on the State University of New York at New Paltz men's volleyball team, along with working within the department during his time as a student-athlete.
Cole served as an intramural official and scorekeeper as a senior for the Hawks Wellness & Recreation department. He was a coveted member of the intramural sports team, along with being a pivotal member of the men's volleyball program. Along with working for the department, Cole became a national champion in 2016, earned First-Team All-UVC honors in 2018 and received the department's Kenneth F. Burda Sportsmanship award as a senior.

Cole talked about his experience as a Hawk and why there is only one SUNY New Paltz.
"To me, 'There is only one SUNY New Paltz,' has a lot of meaning to it. New Paltz pushes you to be the best version of yourself. For me, that was both academically and athletically. New Paltz provides its students with the environment to succeed in every, and anything we put our minds to. SUNY New Paltz has given me the pathway to succeed for all that my future has in store for me and I could not be more grateful."
