New Paltz, NY — The Athletics, Wellness and Recreation Department hosted a singles Soccer Tennis Tournament Friday night under the lights on the varsity tennis courts with nearly 20 students participating to win some coveted Hawks gear.
SUNY New Paltz men's soccer junior midfielder James Maltes took home bragging rights and a Hawks long-sleeve after defeating senior teammate James Hennessy in the championship round in the round-robin tournament.
"Congratulations to James Maltes our winner of the Soccer Tennis competition that took place Friday under the lights on the tennis courts," said SUNY New Paltz women's tennis coach
Rob Bruley who ran the event. "James won a close fought final."
The Athletic, Wellness and Recreation Department plan to continue offering late night programing throughout the semester.
