New Paltz, NY — The United Soccer Coaches Association released its third regional ranking of the season Tuesday with the State University of New York at New Paltz men's soccer team on the rise once again after an undefeated weekend, getting slotted at No. 4 in Region III.
The Hawks (9-2 overall, 4-0 SUNYAC) were first ranked at the No. 6 spot two weeks ago before rising to No. 5 last week, and after two convincing conference victories over SUNY Potsdam (3-1) and SUNY Plattsburgh (2-0), SUNY New Paltz moved up another spot in the latest rankings. Sitting just in front of the Hawks are RPI, SUNY Cortland and SUNY Oneonta. The Red Dragons of Cortland are also slotted at No. 12 in the country, while the Red Dragons of Oneonta are fifth in the national poll.
