New Paltz, NY -- The 2021 State University of New York at New Paltz men's soccer schedule was released Friday, with the Hawks looking for their third consecutive season at or above the .500 mark.

After an 8-8-1 finish in 2019, they will seek to display the talent they flashed in 2018, when they finished second in the SUNYAC at 11-6-1 before the Coronavirus shuttered their 2020 season completely.
SUNY New Paltz will begin the season at home against Union College who the Hawks split with in their last four games since 2015. SUNY New Paltz will then venture to Madison, NJ for the Drew University Tournament on Labor Day Weekend (Sept. 4 and 5) where they will face Rowan University and Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham. The Hawks took home the Drew Tournament trophy in 2019 after winning both games in the tournament against Stockton University and the hosting Rangers, respectively.
Conference play kicks off Sept. 24, with a 4 p.m. home game at the South Turf Field against The College at Brockport, sixth-place finishers in the SUNYAC in 2019 and whom the Hawks will look to break a long losing streak against. The last time SUNY New Paltz defeated the Golden Eagles was a 2-0 victory all the way back in 2007. The next day, the Hawks host SUNY Geneseo at 1 p.m. and then they will have arguably their toughest test of the regular season Oct. 9 on the road against SUNY Oneonta. The Red Dragons are the reigning conference champions (8-1 SUNYAC record in 2019 and 18-3 overall), and SUNY New Paltz is 2-2 against them since 2016. In that matchup, the Hawks notched a big 1-0 victory over Oneonta, who at the time were ranked seventh in the country. They conclude their conference schedule Oct. 22 and 23 on the road at Oswego State and SUNY Cortland, respectively.
The first round of the SUNYAC Tournament begins Oct. 30 at the third and fourth seeds' home fields, with the semifinals held on Nov. 3 at the highest remaining seeds. The 2021 SUNYAC Championship is scheduled for Nov. 6 at the highest remaining seed. The NCAA DIII Championships will be played Dec. 3 and 4 at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, respectively.
