SUNY New Paltz Men's Soccer Ranked No. 6 in First United Soccer Coaches Regional Poll

New Paltz, NY — The United Soccer Coaches Association announced its first regional rankings of the season Tuesday with the State University of New York at New Paltz men's soccer team landing at No. 6 in the Region III rankings for Division III.

The Hawks (4-1 overall) had a hot start to the season, suffering their only loss to Rowan University, which landed No. 21 overall nationally after it went undefeated to start the year. Besides the 1-0 loss to the Profs, SUNY New Paltz has out-played its opposition through its first five games and are currently riding a three-game winning streak heading into its road matchup against Vassar Wednesday, which were voted eighth in Region III after three wins and a tie to start the year.

Along with SUNY New Paltz, three other SUNYAC schools were named in the top-10 in the region including SUNY Plattsburgh (10), SUNY Cortland (3) and SUNY Oneonta (2). The Red Dragons of Oneonta landed 17th in the country in the national poll, while the Red Dragons of Cortland was voted as the 24th best DIII team in the nation.
