Syracuse, NY — The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its weekly award winners Monday with sophomore guard Rylan Blondo being named as the SUNYAC/PrestoSports Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.
 
Blondo earned the same accolade two weeks prior on Jan. 3 after a standout performance at the Western Connecticut State holiday tournament.
 
The Brooklyn, NY native continued his dominant second-year campaign after guiding the Hawks to two more wins on the weekend against Buffalo State and Fredonia State. He averaged 22.5 points per game on 63 percent shooting (17-for-27) in the two games. 
Blondo recorded his third double-double of the season against the Bengals Thursday after pulling down a career-high 14 rebounds and producing 25 points in the 89-75 win. He was productive from the floor, making 9-of-16 attempts and knocked down 6-for-11 from the foul line, while recording a season-high six assists.
 
Against the Blue Devils, Blondo aided in his team's blowout victory with a team-leading 20 points in just 21 minutes of action. He was again efficient offensively, connecting on 8-for-11 from the field, including 3-for-4 from 3-point range. He also chipped in with a team-leading three steals to go along with three rebounds and an assist in the 88-68 victory.

Blondo currently leads all of the SUNYAC with 241 points on the season, ranking third in field goal percentage (53.6), third in steals (29) and ninth in assists (45) through 13 games played.
