The United Soccer Coaches Association announced its annual Division III All-Region selections Tuesday for the 2022 season with the State University of New York at New Paltz men's and women's soccer team represented on All-Region III with
Rachel Eisert earning first team and
Owen McGarrity garnering third team honors for the Hawks.
Eisert, a sophomore from Bellmore, NY, made history for the SUNY New Paltz women's soccer program becoming the third ever All-Region selection, and first, first-team selection in program history. She joins alumnae Jessica Nadolny and Shannon Cobb as Hawks All-Region selections with Nadolny and Cobb named as NSCAA All-East following the 1999 and 2011 seasons, respectively.
Eisert led the Hawks to a historic 2022 campaign, as the second year forward established herself as one of the best strikers in Region III. She played in 16 of 17 games, logging 879 minutes of action, pacing her team in both goals (8) and assists (6) as she aided in a program-record 16 goals in conference this season. She scored two goals in a single game twice, in 3-0 win over Russell Sage to start the year and in a 3-0 victory at home over Fredonia. In the postseason, she registered a team-leading five points, scoring a goal with three assists in the Hawks' win over Brockport and SUNYAC semifinal matchup against Geneseo. Along with her first team All-Region III honors, Eisert earned her second consecutive trip to the All-SUNYAC Second Team.
Eisert was one of three SUNYAC players selected to first team honors, joining SUNY Cortland's Bryn Thompson and Jaden Galluzzo.

McGarrity, a junior center back from Massapequa Park, NY, is coming off another strong season for SUNY New Paltz, leading his team's back line with 17 starts, logging the most minutes on the pitch for any Hawks field player. He totaled one assist on the year, which came in the game's opening goal in a 3-1 win over Oswego Oct. 22.
Defensively, he helped SUNY New Paltz hold opponents to just 19 goals against on the season for a 1.12 goals-against-average, allowing less than nine shots on goal per game. Along with his first Third-Team All-Region III honors, McGarrity earned his first trip to the All-SUNYAC second team as well.
The Hawks men's soccer program enjoyed their third-straight year with at least one All-Region selection, with McGarrity joining Sebastian Gordon-Somers-Archer (2018), Kevin Doorley (2018 & 2019) and
Tim Kane (2021) in consecutive seasons.
McGarrity was one of 13 SUNYAC players named to the 2022 All-Region III team with SUNYAC Champions SUNY Oneonta leading the way with five overall selections and four on first team.
