New Paltz, NY – The State University of New York at New Paltz released its 2022 men's soccer schedule was announced Thursday.

After finishing in second place in the SUNYAC conference with a record of 12-5 last season, the Hawks are looking to display their talent once again heading into 2022 and make a deeper run into the postseason tournament with eyes set on its first SUNYAC title in nearly half a century.  

SUNY New Paltz will kick off its season away at Union College with the Hawks winning in their last matchup against the Dutchmen. SUNY New Paltz will then head out to Madison, NJ to face off with the Drew University Rangers and the FDU-Florham Devils at the Drew University Tournament on Labor Day weekend. The Hawks last appeared in the Drew University Tournament last season, falling to Rowan University before beating the hosting Rangers convincingly, 4-0. SUNY New Paltz will then host Vassar College in its first home game of the season on Sept. 14 on South Turf Field. 

The Hawks begin conference play Sept. 21, with an away game against SUNY Plattsburgh, which finished seventh in the SUNYAC Conference in 2021. In their last matchup, the Hawks bested the Cardinals, 2-0. Following their game with the Cardinals, they then head over to play the Fredonia State Blue Devils Sept. 24. SUNY New Paltz will host its first SUNYAC game against the Oneonta Red Dragons Sept. 28 at 4 p.m. on South Turf Field. The Hawks defeated the Red Dragons in dramatic fashion last season, besting the then No. 5 nationally ranked program in overtime thanks to a golden-goal winner by SUNYAC Rookie of the Year Joseph DiPreta. 

On Oct. 12, SUNY New Paltz faces off against the reigning SUNYAC Champions, the Cortland Red Dragons in Cortland for a 4 p.m. match, before ending the season on the road against the Oswego Lakers Oct. 22.

The first round of the SUNYAC Tournament begins on Oct. 29 at the third and fourth seeded teams' fields, with the semifinals and the finals being held at the highest seeded field on Nov. 2 and Nov. 5, respectively.
