SUNY New Paltz Women's Soccer Stay Undefeated in SUNYAC Play in 3-0 Win Over Fredonia

New Paltz, NY — The State University of New York at New Paltz stayed undefeated in conference play after a dominating performance against visiting Fredonia Saturday.

It was a total team effort Saturday with many of the Hawks seeing multiple minutes and Gaby Treble contributing with a goal off the bench. SUNY New Paltz totaled 23 shots, 15 of which were on goal compared to just four by Fredonia.

"I thought we had a great energy throughout 90-minutes and it certainly started in the first half. We didn't get as many set pieces as we wanted to today," said Hawks coach Mike Eckberg. "Certainly, a credit to Fredonia's defense denying the end line, but I thought we got really quality service and got at the end of quality services in the box but didn't convert any of those. Two really great finishes from Rachel and Gaby second half, quality finishes all around by them. I thought Maggie Cameron did a phenomenal job today at outside back, just really containing one of their most dynamic players in their attack."

Rachel Eisert was the player of the game, as she scored or assisted on all three of SUNY New Paltz's goals. She got the offense started in the third minute, scoring off a shot that was bobbled by the Fredonia goalkeeper and just crossed the goal line. In the opening two minutes of the second half, Eisert doubled down as she scored an absolute screamer with her left foot off a loose ball from about 30 yards out. To secure the win, Eisert added an assist to her stat line as she flicked a through ball to Gaby Treble who got behind Fredonia's back line to bury a breakaway goal.

Ally Donovan was giving Fredonia's back line a headache Saturday as she had multiple opportunities leading SUNY New Paltz with six shots, five of which were on goal. Eisert had five shots on the day, followed by Mia Baldinger who also had five looks at net. In goal for the Hawks, Maddie Franklin played all 90 minutes and totaled four saves to secure the shut out.

SUNY New Paltz is back on the road for another conference game this Wednesday against SUNY Oneonta at 4 p.m.
