SUNY New Paltz Women's Soccer Draw Against Oswego

Oswego, NY - The State University of New York at New Paltz came to a draw against the Oswego Lakers, coming out of the match with a 0-0 score.

Despite the 17 combined shots from both teams, none were successful in reaching the back of the net. The Hawks were quick to try and score, having three shot attempts in the first 15 minutes of the game. From then on out, Oswego pushed offensively and had five shots on the net with five corner kick opportunities. The game remained scoreless going into the second 45 minutes.

The following half was slow-moving compared to the first. Besides a shot from Oswego in the 49th minute, there were no scoring opportunities on either side. A yellow card against the Lakers gave the Hawks a boost of momentum and they had their first two shot attempts of the second from Kelly Licata and Rachel Eisert. Eisert had three shots on net the whole game, the most recorded for the home team. A final shot in the last minute concluded the game, and both teams were left scoreless.

Although not shown on the scoreboard, Maddie Franklin was successful in the net, picking up four saves and shutting out the Lakers.

The Hawks will see SUNYAC action again on October 18 against Cortland at 3 p.m.
