Brockport, NY — The State University of New York at New Paltz went on the road to face Brockport Saturday and earned a 0-0 tie through 90 minutes of action.
The Hawks pushed its record to 8-1-3 overall and 3-1-2 after Saturday's result, while Brockport went to 6-2-4 and 3-0-2. Both with 11 points in SUNYAC play, the two teams are tied for second place behind Cortland in the league standings.
SUNY New Paltz out-shot the Golden Eagles, 14-7 overall including 7-4 in shots on target.
Joseph DiPreta continued being the Hawks' biggest offensive threat with his ability in the midfield both on set pieces and the run of play. He totaled a game-high four shots with two on frame in 81 minutes of action.
Philip Varner garnered two shots on target after logging a full 90 minutes of action.
Christian Micheli wasn't tested too often but came up with stops when needed and finished with four saves.
SUNY New Paltz has a full week to prepare before its next outing Saturday when it returns home to host SUNY Oswego on South Turf Field at 1 p.m.
