Syracuse, NY — The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its weekly player of the week recipients Monday and Hawks senior guard
Rylan Blondo was named as the men's basketball Player of the Week after leading his team to a season-opening win Saturday.
Blondo received his third career SUNYAC weekly recognition and first since the 2021-22 season. The Brooklyn, NY native led the way in a commanding, 79-59 road win over Skidmore after finishing with a double-double with game high's of 17 points and 10 rebounds, while shooting efficiently from the floor hitting 6-for-10 and 5-for-7 from the free throw line to go along with one assist and two steals with just two turnovers in 28 minutes.
SUNY New Paltz returns to action Tuesday, going back on the road to face United States Merchant Marine Academy at 7:30 p.m. before entering the annual Hudson Valley Tournament this weekend with its home opener set for Saturday at 6 p.m.
