New Paltz, NY — The State University of New York at New Paltz women's tennis team played host to Stevens Institute of Technology on the North Tennis Courts. The Hawks defeated the visiting Ducks 5-4.
"In one of our toughest matches of the year we came through with a very narrow 5-4 win," said Coach Rob Bruley. "Our doubles play was some of the best I've seen all year against a very strong and talented Stevens lineup. Izzy and Tatiana brought home the two points needed for the victory in what turned out to be a very intense set of singles matches. Match ups like this are only going to make us stronger when we move into conference championship play next week. I'm really proud how we won as a team tonight everyone playing their part in this close victory."
Wednesday's match was the final home competition of the season. The Hawks will return on Friday, April 21 when they travel to the College of New Jersey. The match will commence at 4 p.m.
