Syracuse, NY — The State University of New York Athletic Conference announced its weekly winners Tuesday with Hawks senior setter
Cate DiGiacomo earning women's volleyball offensive athlete of the week honors for the first time.
DiGiacomo facilitated SUNY New Paltz's offense to an impressive 2-1 weekend against some top competition at the Scranton Invitational Friday and Saturday. She registered a team-high 97 assists to six different hitters to average more than eight assists per set and totaled 40 assists in a four-set win over hosting Scranton. She also added 12 kills to her stat line, as well as 18 digs with an ace and four total blocks.
The Hawks are back in action Wednesday, going on the road to face Western Connecticut State at 6 p.m. before hosting Sage Colleges for their home opener Friday in the Hawk Center to open up the Hawks Invitational.
