SUNY New Paltz Tennis Wraps up Spring Break Trip against DePauw

Hawks Fall to Tigers 1-5 in a match shortened by rain

Orlando, FL — The State University of New York at New Paltz women's tennis team was on the road once again for the final day of their spring break trip. The Hawks were in action today against DePauw University from the North Coast Athletic Conference. The Hawks lost to the Lions 1-5 with the match being halted after singles due to rain.

"Our match against DePauw was cut short by wet weather and we only managed to play 6 singles matches. Amirah Alston's match at 5th singles did not finish because of wet weather. In the other five singles matches, we played a very high level of competitive tennis but came up short in these matches with 1st and 2nd singles going to third set tie breakers. We were unable to start any of the doubles matches due to incoming storms. Although we didn't win any of our spring break matches, I'm very happy by the way everybody played this past week against high level opposition. I hope this will put us in a good frame of mind for the remainder of our spring matches which will conclude at the conference Championships.," said Coach Rob Bruley

The Hawks will return on April 10, when they will face Steven Institute of Technology, at 3:00 PM in Hoboken, NJ.
