Bayonne, NJ — The State University of New York at New Paltz women's tennis team was on the road today for their first match since spring break. The Hawks were in action today against Stevens Institute of Technology from the MAC Conference. The Hawks fell to the Ducks 3-6.
"In a very close competitive match New Paltz came up short in a 3-6 defeat. All the doubles matches were competitive with the second doubles going down in a tiebreaker of 5-7. With the pressure on New Paltz to win 5 of the 6 singles matches, Onalee Batcheller, Isabel van der Veen, and Tatiana Barnett came out victorious winning second, third, and fourth singles, respectively.," said Coach Rob Bruley.
The Hawks will return this weekend on April 13, when they play host for the New Paltz Scramble, at 10:00 AM on the North Tennis Courts in New Paltz, NY.
