Oneonta, NY – The State University of New York at New Paltz women's tennis program swept Oneonta 7-0 Wednesday afternoon.
Doubles Matches: The team of
Isabel van der Veen and
Nina Genzone defeated their doubles opponents 6-1.
Sydney Sladicka and
Angelica Gabriel also earned themselves a win, beating the Red Dragons 6-0.
Singles Matches: Alyssa Trokie won her first collegiate singles match today, sweeping the competition by going 6-0 in both sets. Sladicka won both her sets 6-2.
Van der Veen won her first set 6-1 and her second 6-0, adding another win to the collum.
Amirah Alston won her first set 6-1 and her second 6-3.
"I'm super happy with how the team battled for another SUNYAC win today. In the doubles, both doubles teams played great aggressive tennis, putting away their opportunities when given them. In the singles everyone played well top to bottom with
Alyssa Trokie achieving her first SUNYAC victory of her career. I'm very happy with how everyone played and look forward to continuing this momentum into the rest of the fall season" said head coach Rob Burley.
The Hawks hope to keep the streak alive Friday when they host Bard College and Saturday when they host part II of the New Paltz Tournament.
