New Paltz, NY — Each week, student intern Jackie Arriaga takes a look back at some of the most stand-out statistical numbers the Hawks had throughout the spring.
Take a look at some standouts below:
.500: The hitting percentage the Hawks had in the second set against No. 7 Springfield Thursday night. Key kills from
Geoff Ndoria,
Nikko Tenedorio and
Mike Handell helped win the second set, 25-19, to even the match at 1-1.
85.7: The percentage the women's basketball team shot from the free line in their win over Plattsburgh Friday night in the Hawk Center. The Hawks won the game, 57-50 and earned their second consecutive victory. Key player
Hannah Vanderzee led all scorers with 14 points and seven rebounds with
Julia Sabatino and
Sierra Carter following with nine points and seven rebounds apiece.
14: The average number of points
Hannah Vanderzee contributed to the Hawks win against Plattsburgh and Potsdam. Vanderzee scored a game-high 14 points in both matchups, adding seven rebounds in a 57-50 win over the Cardinals and one rebound, two assists, two steals and a game-high four blocks in a 65-32 rout of the Bears.
8: The number of consecutive wins the men's volleyball team has against the Golden Eagles. Key play from the team was hitting a match-high .438 in the opening set, which set the tone towards their 3-1 win.
46: The number of bench points scored by the men's basketball team in their win over Potsdam in their Breast Cancer Awareness Game Saturday in the Hawk Center. In the Hawks' 87-62 win over the Bears their bench were major contributors, led by seniors
Mitchell Cumings (12 points and six rebounds) and
Alex Krupinski (13 points).
