Orlando, FL – The State University of New York at New Paltz dropped their first match of the spring season in Florida against Trinity College 6-1.
Doubles: Justine Stanejko and
Amirah Alston dropped their match 6-2 against the Bantams.
Angelica Gabriel and
Sydney Sladicka earned the lone doubles win of the day for the Hawks, winning their set 6-3. The final doubles pair of
Nina Genzone and
Olivia Kunz fell 6-1 in their match against Trinity.
Singles: Stanejko earned her first singles win of the trip. Stanejko won the first set 6-2, and the second 6-1, taking the match. Sladicka fell 6-2 in her first set and 6-1 in the second, losing the match. Alston also fell 6-2 in the first set and 6-1 in the second.
Kunz dropped her first set 6-4 and tried to battle back in her second but fell 6-4. Gabriel battled in her match but fell in a close 7-6 first set and another close 7-5 second set.
Alyssa Trokie dropped the final singles match of the day, falling 6-1 in the first set and 6-3 in the second.
The Hawks look to earn their first win of the trip tomorrow against the Ave Maria University Gyrenes at 12p.m at the United States Tennis Association National Campus in Orlando, Florida.
