New Paltz, NY — Each week, student intern Jackie Arriaga takes a look back at some of the most stand-out statistical numbers the Hawks had throughout the spring.
Take a look at some standouts below:
8: The number of strikeouts recorded by Sydney Waldon for the softball team in a complete-game shutout performance on Wednesday in Game 1 against Skidmore College. Waldon allowed just three hits and two walks, leading the Hawks to a dominant 6-0 victory.
7: The number of wins the baseball team has earned in their last 8 games, improving their overall record to 16-8 and 6-2 in SUNYAC play.
2: The number of runs driven in by
Dillon Ristano during his go-ahead two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning that propelled SUNY New Paltz to a 5-4 victory over SUNY Oswego Thursday.
21: The season-high number of blocks recorded by the men's volleyball team in their match against No. 5 Juniata on Saturday. Krish Jain led the Hawks with nine blocks, while Nikko Tenedorio added five and Michael Spiegel posted six.
1: Walk-off by
Ryan Mackle, which allowed the Hawks baseball team to clinch a 2-1 series win over Oswego Friday as Mackle also hit a solo homer to tie the game at six before walking-off his team in the bottom of the ninth to earn a 7-6 victory.
