SUNY New Paltz Women’s Soccer Releases 2025 Fall Schedule

New Paltz, NY — The State University of New York New Paltz officially released its 2025 schedule Tuesday with the Hawks looking to achieve program history and win their first back-to-back SUNYAC titles.

Coming off the best regular season finish to-date, which culminated in the program's second ever and first in more than a decade, SUNYAC title, SUNY New Paltz hopes the 2025 schedule can prepare them for another championship run in its final ride in the State University of New York Athletic Conference.

Following two home scrimmages against Hartwick and Vassar as tune-ups over an extended preseason, the Hawks officially kick off their 2025 campaign on South Turf Field against Sage Aug. 29 at 2 p.m. They'll play the early game ahead of men's soccer's 5 p.m. slate against Sarah Lawrence.

Of SUNY New Paltz's eight non-conference opponents, three were regionally ranked last season with two earning a spot in the national rankings which includes No. 2 nationally ranked William Smith who the Hawks will face in their second game of the season, going on the road to take on the Herons Aug. 31 in Geneva, NY for a noon matchup. They then will participate in the TCNJ Classic Sept. 6-7 to face Arcadia at 1:30 p.m. Saturday before taking on the hosting Lions Sunday in Ewing, NJ. TCNJ ended last season ranked 20th in the country after finishing 18-1-2 overall and 9-0 in the NJAC, winning its second-straight conference title. The Lions hosted the first two round of the NCAA Tournament, winning the first before falling to No. 18 Johns Hopkins.

TCNJ defeated Montclair in the NJAC finals in 2024, a team SUNY New Paltz played tight the last two years, earning a 1-1 tie last season on South Turf Field. The Hawks have a rematch against the Red Hawks, who also flirted inside the top 25 all 2024, on Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. at MSU Soccer Park.

SUNY New Paltz continues its non-conference schedule, hosting King's College Sept. 13 at 11 a.m. before playing a night game down on Long Island against Farmingdale State Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. The team then returns home for its final match before conference play, hosting RPI Sept. 20 at noon on South Turf Field. The two teams have had close matchups the last four years with the previous two coming out in favor of the Engineers in one-goal games. The Hawks haven't earned a win over RPI since 2012 but did tally a 0-0 tie the last time they played host in 2022.

SUNY New Paltz kicks off SUNYAC play with a rematch of last year's title game, going on the road to visit conference rival SUNY Cortland Sept. 27 at 2 p.m. The Hawks tied the Red Dragons, 0-0 during the regular season last year at home before beating them, 2-0 to dethrone the former SUNYAC champs.

The team went 8-0-1 last season in SUNYAC play with their one blemish being the draw with the Red Dragons. The Hawks defeated every other SUNYAC opponent by at least two goals. The closest games were a 2-0 win over Fredonia and 3-1 victory over Buffalo State.

Their 2025 conference schedule continues back home against Potsdam Oct. 1 at 4 p.m. before making the trip north to face Fredonia Oct. 4 at 1 p.m. The Hawks return home for a mid-week game at 4 p.m. against Morrisville before traveling for back-to-back road matchups against Oswego and Plattsburgh Oct. 11 and 15, respectively.
