New Paltz, NY — The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced its 2025 AVCA Team Academic Awards Monday with the Hawks being named among Division III recipients.
There were more than 1,450 collegiate and high school volleyball teams honored which had maintained at least a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 throughout the 2024-25 academic year.
The Hawks women's volleyball program maintained a 3.38 with 10 of their 18 student-athletes earning Dean's List, while nine were named to the SUNYAC Academic Commissioner's List.
SUNY New Paltz ended last season at 16-13 overall and 6-3 in the SUNYAC, earning its 20th-straight appearance into the conference tournament where it reached the semifinal round for the fourth consecutive season. The Hawks graduated two key members in former All-SUNYAC picks Jamie Albercht and
Letisha Perez but return 15 including three additions to once again fight for one last SUNYAC title before exiting the conference at the end of the 2025-26 year.
