New Paltz, NY — The State University of New York New Paltz earned their fourth straight 7-0 conference sweep Friday afternoon at home against Oneonta State.
"Another very convincing conference win" says coach
Rob Bruley. "Saw us win all three double matches, to win the one doubles point. Taking this confidence into our singles line up, we all convincingly finished out our six singles matches, taking us to a 7-0 victory. Looking forward to our last conference match of the year to decide the conference championship one or two seeds tomorrow again Oswego."
Doubles: The Hawks swept doubles, opening their conference homestead weekend in style.
Justine Stanejko and
Sam Ostrander won their match 6-1.
Patrycja Filonik and
Olivia Kunz won their match 6-0 and
Nina Genzone and
Angelica Gabriel did not let up a point winning their match 6-0 as well.
Singles: The Hawks we're on a roll with six 6-0 sets, earning three matches without letting up a point.
Sydney Sladicka,
Lula Brown-Vann, and
Alex Krol won their matches 6-0.
Ostrander won her first set 6-2 and her second 6-1. Stanejko won her first set 6-2 and her second 6-0 earning the win. Filonik won her first set 6-0 and her second 6-1.
The Hawks will be back home Saturday to host Oswego State at 1:00p.m. in New Paltz, NY.
