Montclair, NJ – The State University of New York at New Paltz swimming program competed against soon to be conference opponent, Montclair State Friday afternoon. The women fell 21 points short falling 102-81, while the men fell 94 to 75.
The women's 400-yard medley relay team of
Jayme Fink,
Erin Donovan,
Alexis Egbert and
Sophia Bucci placed third with a time of 4:38.75. The men's team of
Mickey Leach,
Max Ceasar,
Dylan Esposito and
Nicholas Ahlborn touched the pads with a time of 4:23.03, earning fourth.
Both Fink (12:49.71) and
Hayden Brock (12:16.36) represented the Hawks in the 1000-yard freestyle. both placing fourth in their respective races.
Bucci swam the women's 200-yard freestyle, placing third with a time of 2:09.20. Egbert placed fifth with a time of 2:13.51.
Antonio Vavalle placed third for the men touching with a time of 1:51.52.
Sebastian Maldonado (2:06.63) and
Dylan Esposito (2:09.07) placed fifth and sixth respectively.
Donovan (27.85),
Brianna Law (28.00) and
Linsay Perez-Lopez (35.94) placed fourth through sixth in the women's 50-yard freestyle. Ahlbron (23.62), Vavalle (24.07) and Ceasar (26.36) also placed fourth through sixth.
Fink (5:29.71) Bucci (5:30.48) and
Athena Sage (6.13.60) placed third through fifth respectively in the women's 400-yard individual medley.
Deniz Gurcan touched fourth in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 5:03.46, followed by Leach in fifth with a time of 5:33.17.
Madeleine Tothero placed fourth in the women's 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:43.38.
Jack Samko touched fourth in the men's heat with a time of 2:08.77, followed by Brock with a time of 2:19.28.
Erin Donovan touched first in the women's 100-yard free with a time of 1:00.68, followed by
Annabella Perez Salvi in second (1:07.78) and Perez-Lopez in third (1:19.32). Ahlborn touched first with a time of 53:06, followed by Maldonado in second (56.81) and Esposito in third (57.54).
Sage (2:44.24) and
Jade Fontanez (3:38.39) swam the 200-yard backstroke. Ceasar and Leach also swam the 200-back touching at 2:22.60 and 2:31.95 respectively.
Egbert touched first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:58.24, followed by Perez Salvi (7:02.00). Samko also placed first in the 500, with a time of 5:31.49.
Law touched first in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:49.30, followed by Tothero (2:58.95) and Fontanez (3:50.15). Gurcan touched first with a time of 2:32.66.
Tothero, Perez Salvi, Sage and Law placed second in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 4:37.86. Samko, Brock, Gurcan and Vavalle touched first with a time of 3:28.91.
The Hawks compete Saturday a 2p.m. in Mahwah New Jersey against Ramapo College.
