NEW PALTZ, NY — The State University of New York at New Paltz women's tennis team were in action today for their first ever New Jersey Athletic Conference match. The Hawks played host to the visiting Scarlet Raptor of Rutgers Camden. The match was played in overcast and windy weather on the North Courts located on the SUNY New Paltz Campus. The Hawks carried the day with a perfect score of 7-0

Angelica Gabriel closing out their matches in great style to confirm our first NJAC victory.
Sam Ostrander playing #1 singles had a solid match going toe to toe with her opponent. Her consistency and great ball striking saw her win her match in 2 sets.
Alex Krol playing #3 singles played some of her best tennis this season coming out on top in a 2-0 victory. The last match on court came down to Filonik battling out with a very determined opponent. Patrycja showed a lot of character today in mixing up her game and coming out on top in a tough 2-0 victory. This 7-0 victory was just the start we needed in competing in the new NJAC Conference" said Coach

The Hawks will return this Wednesday for their next NJAC conference match. The Hawks will host William Patterson University at 4:00 PM on the north tennis courts in the first of a trio on NJAC matches next week.
