New Paltz, NY — The D3Hoops.com women's basketball All-Region teams were announced Monday with Hawks graduate
Brianna Fitzgerald named to her second Most Outstanding Player of Region III honor.
Fitzgerald was the program's first ever Region Player of the Year recipient following her first nod following the 2023-24 season, and now adds the two-time honor to her resume, along with earning Region III Rookie of the Year in her first season in 2022.
Fitzgerald was among 16 others selected to the D3Hoops.com All-Region III team, earning all-region for the fourth time in her career and first team honors for the third. The accolade comes on the heels of being named as a Jostens Award Finalist for the second time.
After missing last season to a knee injury, Fitzgerald came back like no time passed and had arguably her best campaign of her illustrious career. She set career-highs in rebounds (258), steals (96), assists (110) and blocks (37), while posting 525 points — second most in program history only to her own total of 545 following the 2024-25 season.

Fitzgerald averaged 18.1 points per game after starting all 29 games played, ranking 43rd in the country in the category. She additionally ranked 18th in total points, tied 29th in field goals made, was 14th in total steals (96) and 24th in steals per game (3.31), while also averaging nearly nine rebounds and four assists per game. She totaled 11 double-doubles on the year and became just the 10th player in Division III history, and less than 20 ever in NCAA Basketball across all divisions, male or female, to register a quadruple double. She achieved the feat in just three quarters, as she posted 15 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists and 11 steals with one block in an 85-41 blowout of Potsdam in the Hawk Center.
The Dix Hills, NY native lifted an underclassmen heavy team that consisted of just 10 players from a year ago and led them to one final SUNYAC title in the program's last season in the conference. SUNY New Paltz went on to knock off defending champions SUNY Cortland, 56-52 in the finals to collect the program's eighth SUNYAC title and cement the team's ninth appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
On the national state, Fitzgerald produced a 24-point, 17-rebound outing in a first-round win over Immaculata, while shooting 8-for-16 from the field and adding a team-leading six assists with three steals to move her team forward in the second round against hosting No. 11 John Carroll. Against the Blue Streaks, she led all scorers with 28 points on 11-for-24 shooting with nine rebounds, five assists, a block and two steals, once again showing why she was a previous two-time All-America select.
Along with the All-Region honor, Fitzgerald collected her third SUNYAC Player of the Year award and was named SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Year, First-Team All-SUNYAC and SUNYAC Tournament MVP. With the first-team All-Region III and D3Hoops.com Most Outstanding Player recognition it aligns Fitzgerald to be named to her third All-America honor, which will officially be announced March 21.
