NEW PALTZ, NY – Luca Maneri of the SUNY New Paltz men's cross country team has been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week, as announced by the conference office Monday. 

Following an impressive debut at the season-opening Fred Pavlich Invitational, hosted by Bard College, that earned him his first NJAC Athlete of the Week honor, Maneri followed with another standout performance. 

The Esopus native once again led the Hawks, finishing sixth overall in a loaded 6K race with a time of 19:28.0, recording the fastest time in the conference this week. 

Maneri helped SUNY New Paltz place fifth out of seven teams in a competitive field at the Vassar College-hosted meet, which included nationally ranked No. 3 NYU. 

Maneri picks up his second NJAC weekly accolade in as many weeks as the Hawks now turn their attention to the RPI Fairgrounds Showdown Saturday, Sept. 26, with the men's race set to begin at 11 a.m.
