GREENWICH, NY - The State University of New York at New Paltz cross country team(s) were in action today at the Fairgrounds Showdown hosted by the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The men ran an 8k and women a 6k at Washington County Fairgrounds located thirty minutes north of RPI's campus in Troy, NY. The men came in tenth out of fifteen teams. The women finished twelfth out of sixteen teams.

Luca Maneri led the men's team with a twenty-sixth place finish in a new personal best time of 24:52.8 on the 8k course. Maneri's performance broke the school record previously set by Galo Vasquez in 2016 at the NCAA Regional of 25:03.0. Anthony Willis finished one hundred-sixteenth with a new personal best time of 27:02.9. Corbin Smith and Aiden Hesseltine followed in one hundred thirtieth and one hundred forty-second place(s) and time(s) of 27:23.2 and 27:41.2, respectively. Hesseltine earned a new personal best in the 8k. Evan Miller rounded out the Hawks' scoring five in one hundred fifty-seventh place with a time of 28:02.2. Mike Harbord and Langston Comer finished as the Hawks' displacers in one hundred sixty-first and one hundred seventieth place(s) with new personal best times of 28:11.5 and 28:40.9, respectively.

Orquidea Briceno finished sixtieth overall to lead the Hawks in a time of 23:10.4 on the 6k course. Alexandra Swink finished next for the Hawks in one hundred twelfth place with new personal best time of 24:50.3. Brooke Rosenberg finished next in one hundred thirty-seventh place with a new personal best time of 26:16.7. Julianna Vanorden finished in one hundred thirty-ninth place with a time of 26:45.9. Olivia Kruppo finished in one hundred fortieth place with a new personal best time of 26:53.9 to close out the scoring five for the Hawks. Adelyn Ameigh-Coggen and Nicolina Masotti finished as the Hawks displacers in one hundred forty-seventh and one hundred fifty-ninth place(s) with times of 27:37.6 and 29:11.9 respectively.

The cross country team(s) return to action on Friday, October 2 for the Paul Short Run presented by Asics hosted by Lehigh University at the Goodman Campus course in Bethlehem, PA.
