SUNY New Paltz is committed to fielding a nationally competitive field hockey program that will compete for SUNYAC and national championships. Under head coach Shanna Szablinski and her staff, who has guided the Hawks to six SUNYAC titles in her 15-year tenure at the helm, the future of #NPHawks field hockey promises to continue to be bright! Program Highlights:

• 6x SUNYAC Champions (2012-2015, 2018 & 2021)
• Advanced to second round of NCAA Tournament (2013-2015 & 2021)
• 94 All-SUNYAC selections
• 28 NFHCA All-Region selections
• Six NFHCA All-Americans
• Three SUNYAC Rookie of the Year selections (including current student-athlete Jessica Ascencao)
• One SUNYAC Player of the Year selection
• One SUNYAC Offensive Player of the Year selection
• Two SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Year selections, including Jessica Ascencao in 2021
• Three SUNY Chancellor Award winners
• Four SUNYAC Scholar Athlete of the Year winners, including Jessica Ascencao in 2021
• More than 60 NFHCA Academic All-American selections

Fundraising Goals:

• Increased technology to enhance student-athlete performance.
• Overseas trip, which gives student-athletes a unique opportunity to experience other cultures, while also playing high-caliber field hockey against athletes from across the world.
