Lorna Pierson joined the staff in the fall of 2021 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at the State University of New York at New Paltz.
Pierson previously served as an Athletic Trainer at Mansfield University, East Stroudsburg University (ESU) and Marywood University. Previously, she spent three years as a full-time instructor teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the CAATE-accredited Athletic Training Program at ESU.
Pierson earned her Master of Science degree in Clinical Athletic Training in 2016 as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training in 2015 from East Stroudsburg University. Pierson holds National Academy of Sports Medicine certifications including the Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) and the Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES).
Pierson is a Board of Certification Certified Athletic Trainer (2016). She is a long-standing member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) and the Eastern Athletic Trainers Association (EATA). She volunteers for the EATA convention and Special Olympics of Pennsylvania. Pierson is also an instructor of First Aid/CPR/AED by the Emergency Care and Safety Institute.
Lorna lives in Otisville, NY with her husband, Billy.
