Mike Duffy is entering his third year as the lead Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at SUNY New Paltz ahead of the 2023-24 season.
While on staff during the 2023-24 season, Duffy helped the Hawks to their winningest season to date. The team finished with its first 20-win season at 20-8 overall, the No. 2 seed in the SUNYAC Tournament and hoisted the program's first ever SUNYAC Championship title after upsetting No. 5 nationally ranked Oswego on their home floor.
Duffy spent the previous three years at Western New England University in Springfield, MA, beginning as a Graduate Assistant and leaving as the lead Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach. During his first season with WNE in 2018-19, the Golden Bears recorded their highest win total since the 2009-10 campaign and won their first CCC Tournament contest since 2007-08. The following year, Duffy helped lead Western New England to one of the most efficient offenses in all of Division III -- ranking 3rd in the country in assists per game and naming four starters to CCC All-Conference teams.
Prior to joining Western New England, Duffy worked for two years with Sportradar, the real-time statistics partner of the NBA. In that role, he charted live stats (including player metrics and shot locations) for the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets.
Additionally, Duffy previously served as a Regional Scout with NetScouts Basketball. There, he live scouted NCAA Division I games and compiled scouting reports on amateur players for international professional teams.
Duffy earned his M.S. in Sport Leadership and Coaching from Western New England University in 2020 and his B.S. in Sports Management from New York University in 2016.
