Samantha Trimblett

Samantha Trimblett begins her fourth year with the SUNY New Paltz women's soccer program, the previous three as an assistant coach with the team, while entering her first year as the Interim Head Coach ahead of the fall 2025 season.

Trimblett began with the program as a volunteer assistant in 2022 before taking on the lead assistant role the last two seasons alongside coach Mike Eckberg who stepped down at the helm in the summer of 2025. Trimblett and Eckberg earned SUNYAC Coaching Staff of the Year honors after guiding the program to their first SUNYAC title in more than a decade in 2024. The team had the best regular season finish in program history, going 8-0-1 to garner the No. 1 seed for the first time ever in the SUNYAC Tournament where they went on to defeat reigning champion SUNY Cortland, 2-0 in front of a rambunctious home crowd. The Hawks ultimately made an NCAA appearance and finished 15-3-2 overall, ending as the winningest season in program history.

Prior to joining the Hawks coaching staff, Trimblett had stints at Fox Soccer Academy, heading the 2008 and 2006 boys club programs, was an assistant coach at Nirvana FC for groups U9-U17 and volunteered at Bethlehem Soccer Club for their U12 and U17 girls teams and is currently the head coach at Force FC of their U9 girls program.

Trimblett starred for four seasons at The Sage Colleges where she was named a Co-Female Athlete of the Year, and earned United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors, Empire 8 First-Team All-Star recognition, and was a two-time Google Cloud Academic All-District honoree.

Additionally, Trimblett set the career assists record at Sage and finished her stellar career having been the program’s leading scorer all four seasons. She closed her career with 22 points on nine goals with four assists and two game-winning goals in 2018. She had one of the best careers of any Gator in women’s soccer history, having guided the program to the postseason in three of four seasons. She finished her career with 24 assists, 114 points, ranking second all-time, with 45 goals, third best in program history.

She was the first, first-team Empire 8 All-Star team selection in Gators women’s soccer history. She was also honored with her second straight citation into the Sage Athletic honor Society and was an inductee at the 2019 banquet. Trimblett ultimately earned her degree from The Sage Colleges in May 2019 in graphic and media design.

Prior to Sage, Trimblett was a graduate of Monroe-Woodbury High School where she was a member of the OCIAA Division I and Section IX Championship team, along with earning Section IX Coaches All-Star honors, Times Herald Record First-Team honoree and Most Improved Player (2014-15).
