Dakota Pruiss enters her fifth season as an assistant coach for the women's volleyball team in 2023.

Dakota Pruiss is returning to the SUNY New Paltz coaching staff as assistant coach of the women’s volleyball team ahead of the 2022 season.

Pruiss spent the previous five years as head coach of the Alfred University women’s volleyball team. In her first two years, Pruiss coached the Saxons to two conference championship tournament appearances in 2017 and 2018. Also in her time there, Pruiss had seven Empire 8 All-Conference appearances from her players. 

Pruiss also worked as the Senior Woman Administrator at Alfred University from 2020-2021. In that position, she developed and oversaw initiatives such as: student-athlete leadership programming, oversaw assistant immersion programs, and created the Saxon inclusion webpage, the Saxon Olympic event, and the divisional programming for Fall Athlete Move in/ Administration day.

Prior to coaching and working at Alfred University, Pruiss worked as an assistant coach of the women’s volleyball team at SUNY New Paltz from 2014-2016. 

Pruiss earned her M.A. in Mathematics from the State University of New York at Potsdam in 2014.
