Mary Sommer joined the New Paltz women's volleyball program as assistant coach in the fall 2026-27 season.
Sommer spent last year as the head coach for SUNY Ulster and joins the Hawks eager to learn more about program development within four-year institutions. As an alumna of New Paltz, with her B.A. In Psychology, she looks forward to connecting with current students and fostering success on and off the court.
Sommer played volleyball at the NJCAA level and is bringing her experience to New Paltz to support the women's volleyball team and head coaching staff as the Hawks start their egacy within the NJAC conference. In the off-season, she coaches with the local club Downstate North.
