SUNY New Paltz Athletics

Melinda DiGiovanna led the women’s volleyball team to a 4-0 weekend as they won the Red Dragon Classic. It is the first time that New Paltz has won the Classic in the 21 years they have competed. New Paltz swept all four opponents 3-0 as they faced Buffalo State, Nazareth, Montclair and Cortland. DiGiovanna totaled 25 kills on 71 attempts with only four errors to hit a .296 in her college debut weekend. She tallied 29 digs and eight blocks on her way to earning All-Tournament honors.
