Valdivia scored nine goals and dished three assists in two games over the span of the week, while also adding six ground balls, two draw controls and two caused turnovers. Her five markers and two assists helped power the Hawks to their second State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) victory on Tuesday in a home win over SUNY Potsdam, 18-14. On Saturday, Valdivia’s four-goal, one-assist day was not enough to lift the Hawks over Buffalo State, as the Bengals were able to defend their turf, 22-10, in New Paltz’s final game of the season. Valdivia finished the 2012 campaign leading the Hawks in goals (38) and ground balls (52), while the team ended the year with a 7-10 overall record (2-6 SUNYAC).
