FORT MYERS, FL- The New Paltz softball team picked up a pair of wins today over Curry College and Hamilton College in thee Gene Cusic Classic. The Hawks defeated Curry 8-4 in the morning and shutout Hamilton later in the day with a 5-0 win.
Jillian Gallagher was 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI and
Rose Dovi was 3-for-4 with three runs scored for the Hawks.
Melyssa Cilmi was 2-for-4 with one RBI and
Melissa Liotta was 2-for-4 two runs and three RBI.
Erin Fitzpatrick added one hit with a run scored and two RBI and
Elizabeth May was 2-for-3 with one run and RBI.
Gillian Davidoff earned the win on the mound, tossing a complete game allowing four runs, three earned, on seven hits and striking out three.
In the nightcap against Hamilton,
Alyssa Oliva tossed a complete game shutout and allowed two hits and striking out five as the Hawks won 5-0.
Liotta led the Hawks from the plate going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and
Samantha Barra was 2-for-3 and an RBI. Fitzpatrick added two RBI and Dovi was 1-for-2 with one run scored and one RBI.
