Fredonia Too Much For Hawks

NEW PALTZ- The New Paltz women's lacrosse team fell to the Blue Devils of Fredonia by a score of 15-6 Saturday afternoon.  The Hawks fall to 1-7 overall and 0-4 in the SUNYAC.  Fredonia improves to 6-4 overall and 1-1 in the conference.  The Hawks return to action Friday, April 16th when they travel to Newburgh, NY to take on Mount Saint Mary College. 

Sophomore attacker Samantha DelGaudio led the Hawks in scoring with two goals.  Brittany Hunt, Helene Rotolo, Erin Tornatore, and Julianne Rehain each scored one goal a piece.  Bridgitte Hooker collected one assist along with her teammates Hunt and Rehain. 

Margaret DeLauter provided a quality performance as the Hawks goalie on the afternoon.  DeLauter saved 18 shots against the aggressive Blue Devil offense.  She recorded the loss in net, allowing 15 goals in 60 minutes of play. 

The Blue Devils were led by Amy Simon who scored four goals and had one assist on the day.  Five other Fredonia players scored at least one goal in the contest.

Casey Chiesa earned the win in net for Fredonia, allowing six goals and saving five in the matchup.
