GENESEO, NY- The New Paltz softball team was swept by the Geneseo Blue Knights this afternoon by the scores of 6-3 and 5-2. The Hawks fall to 18-16 overall and 8-8 in the SUNYAC. The Hawks wrap-up the regular season tomorrow at Potsdam at 11 a.m., and with one win the Hawks will advance to the SUNYAC Tournament.
In game one,
Jillian Gallagher and
Melyssa Cilmi were each 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Erin Fitzpatrick and
Victoria Kyle were each 2-for-3, including two runs scored by Kyle and one by Fitzpatrick.
Gillian Davidoff took the loss on the mound, allowing four runs on four hits and walking three in one inning. Gallagher pitched the final five innings, allowing two runs on two hits and struck out two.
In the nightcap,
Alyssa Oliva recorded the loss for the Hawks, allowing five runs, three earned, on six hits and striking out one for her eighth complete game of the year.
Gallagher finished 2-for-4 with one run and Fitzpatrick was 2-for-3 for the Hawks.
Dale Cornelius and
Elizabeth May were both 1-for-2, including an RBI from May.
